What a weekly pool maintenance plan covers
A pool that is looked after every week seldom turns green. The weekly plans in this department are priced by pool size and cover a regular visit to test and balance the water, clean the pool and check that the pump, filter and chlorinator are doing their jobs.
Gauteng pools swing between extremes. In summer, heat, heavy afternoon rain and falling leaves can burn off chlorine and push pH out of range in a single week. In winter, dust and low use let problems creep in unnoticed. A regular visit catches a scaled chlorinator cell, a weeping pump seal or a climbing filter pressure while it is still a small fix rather than a repair bill.
A plan starts with a once-off establishment visit that brings the water and equipment to a sound baseline; the weekly visits then keep it there. You pay the first month online and the standing arrangement is set up with you from there.
- Choose the plan by your pool's volume, not its surface area; a deep pool holds far more water.
- Mention known faults, such as a dripping pump or a pool that has gone green before, when you sign up.
- Arrange gate and pump-room access for visit days.
- Run the pump on a timer long enough each day for the whole volume to pass through the filter at least once.
- Complexes and body corporates with a shared pool should look at commercial maintenance instead.
