Pool Shop for Pretoria and Midrand: Delivery and Collection

If you have been looking for a pool shop in Pretoria or a pool shop in Midrand, you may not need one in your own suburb. Crystal Reef runs an online pool shop from our office at Block 5, Central Office Park, 257 Jean Avenue, Die Hoewes, Centurion, and we deliver pool equipment to Pretoria, Pretoria East, Midrand and the northern suburbs of Johannesburg in our own vehicle. You order and pay online, and the delivery fee is worked out from the measured road distance between our office and your address. If you would rather fetch it yourself, you can collect from us in Centurion at no delivery charge.

This post explains how that works today: what you can order online right now, what each delivery band costs and which areas fall into it, how collection works, and how to place an order step by step. Everything here matches what the checkout itself will show you.

An online pool shop, not a shop floor

It is worth being clear about this first, because it saves a wasted trip. Crystal Reef does not have a retail shop for browsing shelves. Our office in Die Hoewes is where orders are prepared and collected, not a store you walk around. The online shop is the shop: every product has its own page with photographs, a description and its price, and that is where you choose and pay.

That arrangement is also why the delivery fee is honest about distance. There is no courier account behind it. Every delivery is a trip in our own vehicle from Centurion, so the fee covers the drive out and back, plus the time of the person doing it. More about the shop itself is on our pool shop in Centurion page.

What you can order online right now

The full online store opens soon. Until it does, the shop sells the bigger items online, and lists everything else so you can see the range:

  • Equipment priced at R3,000 and up, such as pool heat pumps, pool pumps, sand and cartridge filters, salt chlorinators and robotic pool cleaners.
  • Specials, which sell online whatever their price.
  • Services and installations, booked and paid through the same checkout.

The minimum online order is R3,000. An order that is only a service booking has no minimum, because it is a booking rather than a small order.

Some things are not sold online yet:

  • Pool chemicals are listed but cannot be bought through the checkout before the full launch. The product page says so and gives you our WhatsApp number to order instead.
  • Smaller parts and accessories under R3,000 that are not on special show the same note.
  • Pool covers are never priced online. They are made to the shape of your pool, so we come out, measure, and quote in writing.

Many of the products are ordered in from the supplier when you buy them, rather than held on a shelf. The product page tells you whether an item is ordered in, with the expected lead time, before you pay. We do not promise a delivery date the stock cannot keep.

Installation, added at checkout

Most of what the shop sells we can also fit. The shop has an Installations department with fixed-price fitting jobs: heat pump installation, chlorinator installation, filter installation, pump installation and light installation. Add the fitting to the same basket as the equipment and pay for both together. Once your payment has cleared, we arrange a time that suits you and our install team.

If you are not sure which size to buy, especially for a heat pump, our pool heat pump sizing guide walks through how pool size, cover use and the season you want to swim in decide it. If the answer is still unclear, send us a photo of the pool and the existing equipment and we will tell you what fits.

Pool equipment delivery to Pretoria, Midrand and Johannesburg

When you type your delivery address at checkout, the shop measures the road distance from our Centurion office to that address and puts it in one of five bands. These are the bands and the areas that typically fall into each:

  • Up to 10 km: R350. Centurion, Irene, Lyttelton, Doringkloof, Eldoraigne.
  • Up to 20 km: R450. Midrand, Kyalami, Wierdapark, Highveld, Olifantsfontein.
  • Up to 30 km: R550. Pretoria East — Faerie Glen, Moreleta, Garsfontein, Menlyn, Waterkloof.
  • Up to 50 km: R650. Johannesburg north — Sandton, Randburg, Fourways, Bryanston.
  • Up to 65 km: R850. Kempton Park, Edenvale, Roodepoort, Boksburg.

The examples are a guide. What decides the fee is the measured distance to your own street, so two houses in the same suburb can land in different bands if they sit either side of a boundary. The checkout shows the distance it measured next to the fee, so you can see why you were charged what you were.

Beyond 65 km there is no published delivery price. WhatsApp us on 081 577 5051 with your address and what you are ordering, and we will tell you whether we can do it and what it will cost.

Pretoria

For pool equipment delivery in Pretoria, most of the southern and central suburbs measure into the R450 or R550 bands. Pretoria North and the northern suburbs can measure further out. Our page on pool service in Pretoria covers the suburbs we visit for service work as well.

One exception matters here: we do not deliver into the Pretoria CBD, even though it is well within distance. The checkout refuses a CBD address by name. If you are in the city centre, collect your order from us in Centurion instead, or WhatsApp us and we will see what we can arrange.

Pretoria East

Faerie Glen, Moreleta, Garsfontein, Menlyn and Waterkloof are the typical examples for the R550 band. The estates further east measure longer, so check the fee the checkout shows for your own address.

Midrand

For a pool shop in Midrand, the drive from Centurion is short. Midrand and Kyalami are the typical examples of the R450 band, so delivery to most of Midrand costs less than delivery into Pretoria East. Our Midrand area page lists the suburbs and estates we cover there.

Johannesburg

Sandton, Randburg, Fourways and Bryanston are the typical examples of the R650 band. Kempton Park, Edenvale, Roodepoort and Boksburg are typical of the R850 band. As with Pretoria, we do not deliver into the Johannesburg CBD.

Collecting from Centurion

If you would rather not pay for delivery, choose collection at checkout. You pick a day and a time within our trading hours, which are Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00 | Sat 08:00–14:00 | Closed Sundays. The checkout only offers times when we are open, so a Sunday collection is not available.

We message you when your order is ready to collect. The person collecting signs for it by name, which is our record that it was handed over.

How to order, step by step

Here is the whole process, start to finish.

  • Find the product. Open the shop and choose a department, or search by name or brand. Items that can be bought online have an Add to cart button. Items that cannot be bought online yet are greyed out with a note telling you to WhatsApp us.
  • Add installation if you want it. Open the Installations department and add the matching fitting job to the same basket.
  • Check your basket. The basket refreshes prices and availability from the catalogue, so what you see is what the checkout will charge for the goods.
  • Choose delivery or collection. For delivery, type the full street address, suburb and postal code, and the checkout shows the measured distance and the fee. For collection, pick a day and time.
  • Accept the terms and pay. You can check out as a guest or sign in to your account. Payment happens on PayFast's own page, by card or by Instant EFT straight from your bank. Your card details go to PayFast, never to us.
  • Wait for confirmation. Your order is confirmed once PayFast tells us the payment has settled, and you receive an email confirmation. If you checked out as a guest, the email carries a private link to your order.

If you close the PayFast page before paying, the order stays unpaid and nothing is taken. You can come back to it from the link in your email.

Paying online

Every online order is paid through PayFast. On the PayFast page you choose card or Instant EFT, and PayFast confirms the payment to us directly. That is the only thing that marks an order as paid, which is why the confirmation can take a moment after you return to our site. Our online pool shop post explains the payment side in more detail.

Questions before you order

If you are not sure whether something will fit your pool, or whether your address will fall inside the delivery bands, WhatsApp 081 577 5051 with a photo of your pool equipment and your suburb. We would rather help you choose the right item before you pay than have you send back the wrong one.
