Spring Pool Season in Gauteng: Booking Your Pool Opening
It is September 2026, the mornings are warming up, and across Centurion and Pretoria pools are coming out of winter. In September and October the water starts to warm, algae wakes up with it, and pumps and filters that ran short hours all winter go back to full duty. It is the time of year when a pool that looked fine in July can turn cloudy or green in a couple of warm weeks.
If you would rather do the opening yourself, our spring pool opening checklist walks through it step by step. If you would rather hand it over, this is what we do.
What we do to get a pool ready
- Once-off cleans, from R1,200 by pool size. A thorough pool cleaning for a pool that has collected a winter of leaves and dust but is still more or less clear.
- Green pool recovery, from R1,200 by pool size, for a pool that has gone green over winter. The green pool recovery page explains what the treatment involves.
- Sand changes, from R1,450 depending on how many bags your filter takes. Spring is a sensible time if the water stays hazy after a backwash, or if nobody can remember when the sand was last changed.
- Chlorinator service, R1,299, for cell cleaning and inspection before the chlorinator has to work through summer.
- Weekly maintenance plans, from R950 a month by pool size, if you would rather not think about the pool again until autumn.
Pool sizes run small up to 30,000 litres, medium from 30,000 to 50,000 litres, and large over 50,000 litres. If you are not sure of yours, a photo and rough measurements are enough for us to work it out.
How to book
WhatsApp 081 577 5051 with three things:
- Your suburb.
- The approximate size of your pool, or its length, width and depth.
- A photo of the pool as it is now, and one of the pump and filter if you can.
With that we can tell you which service fits and what it costs. Scheduling depends on the job and on the installations and services already booked, so we will agree a date with you when you book rather than promise one in advance.
Where we work
We are based in Die Hoewes, and our weekly routes run through Centurion, Pretoria, Pretoria East and Midrand, with Fourways and Johannesburg on request. Once-off work such as a spring clean or green pool recovery follows the same areas.
However you get there, it is worth starting now. A pool that is balanced and filtering properly in September is far easier to keep clear through the first hot spell than one that is opened in a hurry when the weather turns.
